A colleague who truly adds value
Today I want to talk to you about someone who crossed my path to stay and to help build something meaningful.
José Alberto and Bodegas Lazo are all about honesty, passion and purpose. A small but powerful winery with heart, hidden in the village of Férez, between Murcia and Albacete.
Férez, land that speaks
Férez is an oasis. One of those rare villages where peace can be felt in the ground itself. And yes, the ground here speaks. This small corner in one of the highest in the area, and altitude shapes everything: the weather, the way of life... and above all, the grapes.
The soils are truly complex: glacial stones, white and red clays, geological shifts that have sculpted this land for millions of years. Roughly 700 meters above sea level.
Old vines, inspiring land
The vines at Bodegas Lazo are over 20 years old, surrounded by olive groves, wetlands and highland scrub.
Everything is cultivated with respect, organically, among Mediterranean herbs like thyme, rosemary and lavender. A small winery, but full of contagious energy.
A bond with Universo Ferris
José Alberto not only cares for his vineyard and makes his own wines, he's part of Universo Ferris' story.
He helped us create our beloved Nanku 22, offering his space, experience, and above all, his heart.
To this day, that wine continues its bottle-aging in his home.
Wines that take their time
"El José Albertos", as he's know in Férez, is someone who truly understands the land.
He spends his days among the vines, observing, listening. Letting nature set the pace. His wines are made without rush, with intention, with care.
Each bottle holds his gaze and his hours of dedication.
